About Us

The Office of the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer (DPRDO) is handling various activities in relation to establishment matters for Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samity, Zilla Parishad including this Office; under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. This Office works for the implementation of various welfare schemes of the Government of West Bengal under the Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, West Bengal, which includes supervision of year-wise planning for the development and implementation of various schemes under the Panchayat and Rural development department.
In order to efficiently discharge the above-mentioned duty in a productive and time-bound manner, the creation of a web-portal (website) cum database management system has been deemed necessary whereby all the data regarding all Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samity, Zilla Parishad and this Office under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department are to be preserved and updated regularly. The goal is to avail real-time information on the current status of Panchayati Raj Institutions and to reduce any communication gaps in between the various sister offices under this office by way of introducing a single-window portal.
